NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL OFFICE CLOSURE during lunch recess on Court Days
The District of Houston Municipal Office, 3367 - 12th Street, Houston, BC will be closed during the Court Lunch Recess (1 hour) when Court is held in Council Chambers, on the following court dates:

FREE FIREWOOD
The District of Houston is offering FREE firewood on a first come, first served basis to the residents of Houston.  The logs are located in Four Seasons Park and can be accessed via the main entrance or by the Fair Weather Road Way.  There is a mix of dry beetle killed pine and green  wood logs, which will have to be cut to length for removal.

The wood will be accessible between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm daily.

BUILDING INSPECTION SERVICES
The District of Houston has contracted with the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako
to provide building inspection Services to the municipality.

If you require a consultation on a building matter, please contact Richard Wainwright or Jason Berlin (Building Inspectors) at 1-800-320-3339.

WOODSTOVE EXCHANGE PROGRAM
A reminder to residents thinking about replacing your old woodstove with a new EPA (Environmental Protection Agenday) approved unit, please contact the District of Houston Municipal Office to see how you can receive a $300.00 rebate.  The District is offering one rebate per eligible household and the goal is to have all non-compliant woodstoves replaced in the community by December 31, 2010.

An Application for the rebate must be submitted prior to removal of the old woodstove.
