a copy the book. 
Cost is $9.95 plus GST ($10.45).  If you would like a
copy shipped, shipping costs are extra.

 

5.         What are the hours for the Knockholt Landfill Site?

The landfill site is operated by the Regional District of Bulkley-Nechako.

Hours of operation are:               Monday to Sunday - 10:00am to 6:00 pm

Closed on Statutory Holidays.

For information on rates associated with dumping of wastes, volumes, etc. please contact the Regional District at 1-800-320-3339.

 

6.         How can I dispose of empty paint cans?

Paint or paint cans will not be removed by the District’s garbage contractor. These items will be accepted at no charge at the Knockholt Landfill site, Paint Care Depot.

 

7.         What are the garbage regulations?

For each dwelling unit, residents may put out a maximum of 3 receptacles on your designated garbage pick-up day, and each receptacle shall not exceed 20 kilograms in weight.   Or, you may put out one Totter Cart, not exceeding 60 kilograms (these may be purchased from the Municipal Office - for information call 250-845-2238).
To ensure pick-up, the receptacles are to be placed at the curb by
8:00 am.

Yard waste, including leaves, grass, clippings, small branches and other compostable material from yard maintenance will not be removed as garbage.

10.       Who do I contact regarding burnt out streetlights?

a)         The wooden streetlight poles belong to BC Hydro.  To report a problem with a wooden streetlight, please get the number off the pole and the nearest civic address and phone 1-888-769-3766.

b)         The metal streetlight poles belong to the District of Houston.  If you would like to report a problem, please call the District of Houston at 845-2238.

 12.      What can I do about weed control in the municipality?

            The Northwest Invasive Plant Council has established an Invasive Plant Reporting

            Hotline.  

                                                  TOLL FREE: 1-866-44WEEDS    

            This hotline is to be used by members of the public and organizations for the purpose

            of reporting invasive plant species sites, and obtaining further information about

            invasive species.  Voicemail, call forwarding, and a mobile phone have been

            setup for the hotline and the information collected from weed reporters will include:
