Director of Corporate Services

The District of Houston has one permanent position available for Director of Corporate Services

As the leader of the Corporate Services team and reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Corporate Services is responsible for managing the legislative, corporate, and human resource affairs of the municipality. This includes performing the statutory duties of the Corporate Officer as stated under section 148 of the Community Charter and the provision of policy advice to Council and the CAO. As a dynamic, self-motivated person, you will be a key member of the senior management team who is committed to achieving the goals and objectives of the municipality. Your commitment to ethical governance will also serve a crucial role in ensuring that the municipality governs in a manner consistent with the principles of representative government. Your understanding of parliamentary procedures and BC Municipal Legislation such as the Community Charter makes you an ideal candidate for this position. Your passion for history and communications will aid you in ensuring decisions are effectively recorded, kept, and communicated to the citizens of Houston. Your commitment to democratic governance will also see you perform the critical role of the Chief Election Officer for general local government elections and by-elections.

Casual Lifeguards

The Houston Leisure Facility has a standing opening for - inquire today about position availability!

In order to qualify, you must have certification from the National Lifesaving Society, a CPR "C" Certificate, and First Aid Level 1 training. Previous experience as a Lifeguard and Water Safety Instructor certification are preferable, but not necessary for the position.
