2026 - 2030 Financial Plan Public Consultation

The District of Houston, in accordance with Section 165 of the Community Charter, is required to adopt a Five Year Financial Plan Bylaw each year. The Financial Plan must be adopted prior to the adoption of the Tax Rate Bylaw, which must occur prior to May 15 of each year. In accordance with Section 166 of the Community Charter, Council must undertake a process of public consultation regarding the proposed financial plan before it is adopted.

The District of Houston released a budget survey between November 1 and November 30, 2025.

On March 17, 2026, the District of Houston Council gave first reading of the 2026 - 2030 Financial Plan Bylaw. The Financial Plan is now open for public consultation and is seeking public comments on the proposed 2026 -2030 Financial Plan.

How to Provide your Input:

In-person consultation: A public input opportunity will be held on April 7, 2026 at 6:30 pm at the District of Houston Council Chambers. Members of the public can address Council directly at the start of the meeting during the public input opportunity.

Deliver written comments to the District Office at 3367 12th Street during regular business hours
