QUALIFIED ELECTORS:
In order to vote in the 2022 District of Houston local government election, a person must be either a Resident Elector or Non-Resident Property Elector.

To qualify as a Resident Elector, a person must be:
- A Canadian citizen;
- At least 18 years of age or older on general voting day;
- Have been a resident in the Province of British Columbia for at least 6 months prior to registering to vote;
- Have been a resident in the District of Houston at least 30 days prior to registering to vote; and
- Not disqualified under the Local Government Act from voting in a local election or otherwise disqualified by law.
To qualify as a Non-Resident Property Elector, a person must be:
- A Canadian citizen;
- At least 18 years of age or older on general voting day;
- Have been a resident in the Province of British Columbia for at least 6 months prior to registering to vote;
- Have owned real property within the District of Houston for at least 30 days prior to registering to vote (please contact the Chief Election Officer or Deputy Election Officer if more than one person is a registered owner of the Non-Resident Property Elector’s real property within the District of Houston); and
- Not disqualified under the Local Government Act from voting in a local election or otherwise disqualified by law.
